Boys Championship officially underway

The European Boys Team Championship 2007 officially opened at monday night on a nice but windy - and very typical - danish summer evening in the outskirts of Rold Forest.

The danish summerwind was present during the official opening of The European Boys Team Championship in Rold Skov Golf Club – but so were the sun and the 120 players who where all anxious to get the waiting over with and finally get started with the tournament Tuesday morning.

The players and their captains received warm welcomes from the president of the host club, Dan Skjoldborg, member of the board in the Danish Golf Union Lars Dahl Nielsen and Steen Groth Clausen from the European Golf Association.

The official flag rising ceremony and speeches were followed by a cocktail party for the players and officials – but the majority of the players soon headed back to their hotels for the last and important night of good sleep before the next five days of competition.

The action starts Tuesday at 07.30 with the first round of stroke play – and all people around Rold Skov Golf Club look forward to five days of thrilling golf which will end Saturday with the crowning of the new young european champions.

As Lars Dahl Nielsen said in his speech:
