Holland squeezed through after defeating the defending champions from Norway in the tightest match of the quarter finals. Tim Sluiter beat the Norwegian star Anders Kristiansen on the 19th hole which eventually helped the dutch edge through with a 4-3 win.
The boys from England also made it to the last four with a win over France. The match might have looked different if the English hadn’t won the longest match of the tournament when they went to the 23rd hole to level the score at 1-1 in one of the foursomes. England finally won 4,5-2,5.
Denmark and Sweden fought out a dramatic battle in a match where the Swedes had the upper hand with only nine holes remaining in the singles. Four of the swedes took a lead on to the 10th tee but then the danish boys started to turn things around and in the end came up with the win that secured Denmark the best result in many, many years in the Boys Championship.
Denmarks opponent in the semifinal will be Italy who continues to impress in the Championship. The Italians beat Scotland 5-2 in a match where three of the singles went to the 18th hole.
For a nice change the players didn’t get much rain today in Rold Skov. But it was cold, grey and windy at times. Just ask some of the Spanish players who where dressed like they were playing golf on the North Pole.
