The defending champs from Norway sat fire to a wet Rold Skov GC and stormed to take first place in the stroke play qualification
With a blistering team total of 353 (-7) – and all five counting players on par or below, the Norwegians stormed to the top of the leaderboard. Norway will go into their quarterfinal against the orange boys from the Netherlands with plenty of confidence and birdies on their mind.
The only weather challenge Wednesday came around 2 pm, when the skies opened and flooded several greens. Play was suspended for a while, but when things got started again, the conditions turned into real birdie-weather.
The French player Victor Duboisson had an eagle and five birdies on the way to a 67 – which is now the new course record in Rold Skov GC. That score helped the French to secure fifth place and book a meeting with England in a classic battle, while the two neighbours Denmark and Sweden will meet in a pure Scandinavian quarterfinal.
